New Development (April 22, 2020)
To our friends, neighbors and filmmakers,

Well, believe it or not, here we are again!
During the last days-times,
a decision to continue
the closure of resources,
including the 35. Black International Cinema Berlin 2020 venue,
has encouraged us into a
postponement conclusion!
Please be patient and a.s.a.p.,
we will return with fresh dates and times.
Thank you for your much appreciated support.

Smiles, Peace, Happiness and Health
Oops, did we forget Mo...?

(April 5, 2020)
To our friends, neighbors and filmmakers,

Greetings from Berlin.
We are currently making preparations for the
35th edition of Black International Cinema Berlin 2020.
As matters stand, because of a world wide occurance of demanding concern,
we await government permission to enable the planned festival
during May 7-10, 2020, or if advised,
we will postpone the festival until a later date.
In the event of postponement, we will notify everyone concerned.

Neue Entwicklung (22. April 2020)

Congress of Berlin, 1878

The Congress of Berlin (13 June – 13 July 1878),
under the leadership of German Chancellor Otto von Bismarck,
was a meeting of representatives of six Great powers at the time
(Russia, Great Britain, France, Austria-Hungary, Italy and Germany),
the Ottoman Empire and four Balkan states (Greece, Serbia, Romania and Montenegro),
aiming at determining territories of the states in the Balkan peninsula
following the Russo-Turkish War of 1877–78.
The Congress came to an end with a signing of the Treaty of Berlin,
which replaced the preliminary Treaty of San Stefano
signed three months earlier between Russia and the Ottoman Empire.

Berliner Kongress, 1878

Der Berliner Kongress (13. Juni - 13. Juli 1878),

Berlin Conference, 1884-85

The Berlin Conference of 1884–85, also known as the Congo Conference or West Africa Conference,
regulated European colonization and trade in Africa during the New Imperialism period,
and coincided with Germany's sudden emergence as an imperial power.
The conference was organized by Otto von Bismarck, first Chancellor of Germany,
its outcome, the General Act of the Berlin Conference,
can be seen as the formalization of the Scramble for Africa.
The conference ushered in a period of heightened colonial activity by European powers,
which eliminated or overrode most existing forms of African autonomy and self-governance.
(Wikipedia)

Berliner Konferenz, 1884-85

The Aspirants

Once upon a time,
we dreamed of a peaceful existence.
Now, we not only dream,
but add the ingredients
of enlightenment, struggle,
determination, vision, sacrifice
and perseverance.

written by Prof. Donald Muldrow Griffith/Fountainhead® Tanz Théâtre
inspired by "...What is the plan?..." - Oscar Brown Jr.

Die Aspiranten

Einst träumten wir
von einem friedlichen Leben.
Heute träumen wir nicht nur,
sondern fügen die Zutaten
Aufklärung, Kampf, Entschlossenheit,
Vision, Opferbereitschaft
und Beharrlichkeit hinzu.

Text von Prof. Donald Muldrow Griffith/Fountainhead® Tanz Théâtre
