In Mali, in the bush country Mande, the ancient donso brotherhood still exert a preponderant influence upon the rural society. In the past, these men were the elite of the armies and the protectors of the villages, they cured the sick for free and shared the game they hunted. The rules and values of this brotherhood are explained here to the uninitiated by masters who have the authority to do so. They tell us how they see their future and why they worry about the durability of the donsoya, the way of the hunter...

In Mali, im Buschland Mande, übt die sehr alte Donso-Bruderschaft immer noch den größten Einfluss auf die ländliche Gesellschaft aus. In der Vergangenheit waren diese Männer die Elite der Armeen und die Beschützer der Dörfer, sie heilten die Kranken kostenlos und teilten das erjagte Wild. Die Regeln und Werte dieser Bruderschaft werden hier dem Uneingeweihten durch die Meister erklärt, die dafür die Autorität besitzen. Sie erzählen uns, wie sie ihre Zukunft sehen und warum sie sich um die Fortdauer der Donsoya sorgen, den Weg des Jägers...
