Dakar. Forced to beg and victims of violence, children roam the streets in their thousands. They live and sleep on the streets, merely surviving, in extremely difficult conditions. In the face of this scourge, Anta M'Bow gives way to her anger and takes up the challenge. With the help of a handful of artists, she transforms the old Empire cinema into the Children's Empire. But can a center for street children also be a place of genuine artistic expression? An action film that takes the viewer through the challenges faced by the Empire.

Dakar. Zum Betteln gezwungen und Opfer von Gewalt, durchstreifen Tausende von Kindern die Straßen. Sie leben und schlafen auf den Straßen, gerade noch überlebend, unter extrem schwierigen Bedingungen. Angesichts dieses Missstands gibt Anta M'Bow ihrer Wut Ausdruck und nimmt diese Herausforderung an. Mit der Hilfe einer Handvoll Künstler verwandelt sie das alte Kino "Empire" in das "Children's Empire". Kann aber ein Zentrum für Straßenkinder auch ein Ort wahrhaftigen künstlerischen Ausdrucks sein? Ein aktionsreicher Film, der dem Zuschauer die Herausforderungen, mit denen sich das "Empire" konfrontiert sieht, näher bringt.
